Delhi Air Pollution Report Nov 7: Dense smog continues to engulf NCR, gradual respite likely
Situation across Delhi continues to be grim as pollution levels remain sky high. Delhiites woke up to another morning of dense smog, however, visibility was slightly better than Sunday.
Winds continue to be light and calm and minimum temperatures have also been dipping, making situation favourable for accumulation of pollutants. At present, wind speed is between 5 kmph and 10 kmph, which needs to increase up to 15-25 kmph for the clearance of the smog.
Though much respite is not on cards for another couple of days, but weathermen are hoping of gradual improvement.
Winds started blowing as early as six today in comparison to 11 am on Sunday, leading to better visibility conditions.
According to Skymet Weather, the anti-cyclone over Northwest India has started weakening and thus, we expect northwesterly winds to pick up pace soon.
With this, sky is likely to clear up gradually in the coming days. Tuesday could also see moderate to dense smog but we hope to see clear sky by Wednesday.
